Mike Smith


Mike is Client Director at Brown Shipley, Manchester. Mike expertly manages the wealth of high net worth private clients and their families both in the North West and across the UK and is a key member of the Business Development team. He has over 37 years’ experience, previously managing a large portfolio of clients as a Relationship Director at Coutts. Mike began his career with NatWest as a graduate management trainee and was a Corporate Director at the time of his departure to Coutts & Co.

David Goddard

The Lord Goddard of Stockport

David Goddard, Baron Goddard of Stockport is a British Liberal Democrat politician. He was made a life peer, as Baron Goddard of Stockport, of Stockport in the County of Greater Manchester, on 15 September 2014. He was an elected member of Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council from 1990 until 2012, and was elected again in 2014 before standing down in 2018. He was leader of the council between 2007 and 2012. The Lord Goddard sits on a number of House of Lords committees and is a Trustee of the charity, Schools for Kenya.

Mike Blackburn


Mike lives in the North West and until January 2018 was Chair of BT’s NW Regional Board, a role he held from 2007.  He also held the role of VP Strategy & Planning for Public Sector Division.

Mike is chair of the Greater Manchester Local Enterprise Partnership which sits at the heart of Greater Manchester’s governance arrangements, ensuring that business leaders are empowered to set the strategic course, determine local economic priorities and drive growth and job creation within the city region. He holds a number of Non-Exec and Trustee positions, including Chair of the Institute of Directors (IOD) in the North West, Non-Exec of Transport for the North and Trustee of the Lowry Theatre, Salford.
