SMART GRANTS

The Government via Innovate UK has recently launched via its Smart Grants Programme, a new competition for grants.

If you have a business looking to expand its business offering, develop new services or products or even undertake feasibility studies for new products or services, then the Smart Grant could be for you to apply for non-repayable grants to assist with the costs incurred.

£25m has been put aside for this programme for ‘game changing’ and commercially viable Research & Development and innovation, leading to new products, processes or services.

It is open now until August for applications.

The key features are:

  • Non-repayable
  • Available to any type of business in the UK
  • Projects can be from £25k to £2m
  • Project terms can be from 6 months to 36 months
  • A business can obtain up to a 70% grant towards the eligible costs

We as Snowball are experts at producing the relevant plans and financial packages for both raising finance in the traditional way as well as for this type of grant. Indeed, we’ve just submitted our most recent Smart Grant application for one of our existing clients.

We work with the business to obtain the relevant information and then we produce the whole package including the financial assessment/package and submit it on the company’s behalf.

We therefore do most of the work and tailor the application for the best chance of success.

Snowball charge a fixed fee of £2,500 + VAT payable as we commence work but take no cut or commission of any successful grant.

If you would like to speak to us about this, please get in touch. There is a limited timeframe to apply, and all entries must be in by August, so if interested don’t delay.

Please note Snowball cannot guarantee any application can be successful as it is a competition where every application is scored, and the top scored applications are successful and receive the grant.
